Guests will explore the school and discover its creative revolutionaries, while enjoying a musical celebration that will rival any artistic event this season. The special night will begin at 6 p.m. with BookLook, an entertaining tour of the school’s campus, along with student performances throughout, which will give patrons an inside look into the students’ work. Grammy-award winning alumna Erykah Badu will join forces with some of Booker T.’s talented and gifted students in the Montgomery Arts Theatre at 7 p.m. for an unparalleled, first-ever performance in the theater. WASHINGTON PERFORMING ARTS HIGH SCHOOL Four-time GRAMMY® winner Erykah Badu To Offer Candid Career Close-Ups At GRAMMY Foundation® Event On March 24, Presented by The Recording Academy® Texas Chapter Soul and Hip-Hop artist Erykah Badu, will discuss aspects of art and career development within a spectrum of roles as a touring artist, teacher, community activist, philanthropist, holistic healer, vegan, and conscious spirit. Her discussion will include an interview and interactive question and answer session with students moderated by Dallas music historian Jeff Liles as part of GRAMMY Career Day, an initiative of the GRAMMY in the Schools® program.
