Concreteloop.com: Erykah Badu, to me, as remained consistent throughout the years. From Baduizm, to Mama’s Gun, to Worldwide Underground, there hasn’t been an Erykah album that I haven’t been able to listen to from top to bottom. “Honey” is the first track from Erykah’s new album, Nu AmErykah, which is set for release February 24th. The double-disc album will include 18 tracks, including “Honey,” produced by 9th Wonder and the follow-up ’70’s soul-inspired single, “Soldier 7.” / According to the fact that the album release date is wrong I have doubts if this news is true. Let's wait for Erykah to confirm it.

Pimp C, real name Chad Butler, born Dec 29, 1973 — one half of the rap duo UGK, was found dead in a hotel room this morning. He was 33. The paramedics responding to a 911 call found the rapper dead in bed. “UGK is best known for appearing on the Jay-Z track “Big Pimpin’” in 2000, and more recently with Outkast on the song “International Player’s Anthem (I Choose You).” Pimp C had just performed with fellow rapper Too Short at the “House of Blues” in L.A. on Saturday night.” reports TMZ. He enjoyed wide recognition following an interview on Atlanta’s 107.9 FM responding to an article about him in Ozone magazine which he disliked — the interview was quickly shared and made him an internet sensation. / UGK influenced one of Erykah's songs "Southern Girl". Erykah and the whole erykah-badu.com are deeply saddened and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. [*]

Talks to bring American Soul star to Israel at the beginning of 2008 speed up; If deal crystallizes, Badu will hold concert in Tel Aviv in late January. For a while now, various impresarios from the world of Israeli music have been working to bring American Soul singer Erykah Badu to Israel. These continuing efforts appear to have finally borne fruit: If the ongoing contacts crystallize into a signed contract, Badu will appear on stage in Tel Aviv for a concert in late January. Badu's fans who have attended her concerts or heard her well-known live album "Live" know of the singer's superb abilities in live performances. The 36 year-old Grammy winner burst onto the American music scene 11 years ago with her debut album "Baduizm" and its hit single "On & On". That year also saw the release of her now-legendary live album, and two years later she registered yet another hit when the Roots' recorded "You Got Me" with the up-and-coming artist. In 2000, she came out with "Mama's Gun" and then "Worldwide Underground" three years later. Her new album "The Kabah" is slated for release at the end of February, produced in part by hip-hop miracle worker Madlib. In the coming months Badu is planning a global tour to promote the new disk during which, she may just make a stop on our little slice of coastline..
