Erykah Badu joined The Roots on February 19, 2007 during their concert in Dallas' Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas, Texas. Authors and journalists Natalie Hopkinson and Natalie Y. Moore will be at Pyramid Books in Boynton Beach on Saturday for a reading and signing of their book, Deconstructing Tyrone: A New Look at Black Masculinity in the Hip Hop Generation. “Tyrone,” the authors write in their introduction, is ” just a name that has come to speak to a unique form of black male identity, an archetype that was converted into a hit single.” The single of course refers to Erykah Badu’s 1998 song “Tyrone.” Read more.

The 49th Grammy Awards

"That Heat" by Sergio Mendes featuring Will.i.am and Erykah Badu didn't won the Grammy. In the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category won Gnarls Barkley for the song "Crazy". Believe it or not but there aren't any photo of Erykah from the ceremony! I've searched all photo agencies I have access to but I have found nothing! If anyone has an information, where I can find them, please let me know.

The 49th Grammy Awards

Remember that tomorrow is the 49th Grammy Awards ceremony. "That Heat" by Sergio Mendes featuring Will.i.am and Erykah Badu is nominated in the Best Urban/Alternative Performance category. Erykah is going to arrive with the Control FreaQ Records artist - Jay Electronica. The ceremony will be held on February 11, 2007, 8:00 pm on CBS.
Note: European fans, you can watch Grammy Awards on Pro 7 (german channel). It starts at 02:00 am.

"Heart & Soul"

Erykah Badu is on the cover of the February/March issue of Heart & Soul magazine. The article focuses on her rather normal life in Dallas with her daughter Puma and her son Seven. Much time has been taken in the piece to talk about how she home schools her daughter, and how her son's time is split between being on the road with her or with his father, Outkast rapper Andre 3000 . The brief feature mentions how she's restored a performing arts theater in Dallas and has had friends like Common, Prince and Jill Scott come perform and raise funds. In the last paragraph it is mentioned that Erykah is putting the finishing touches on her fourth studio album, that music even comes up. She says that it will be named something similar to her first cd, Baduizm. Said she'd probably title it Badu Iz Um?

QuickDFW.com: Erykah Badu will have her biggest hit since "On and On." This year, Badu crushes the radio once again. How do we know? Because she's back in the studio with Jah Born, who she collabbed with on that first magical joint.
