Press Releases:
Its been years since Erykah
Badu brought her musical stylings to fans. A lot
of singers have come and gone, but Badu is gearing up to
make a full fledged return with her new single "Honey."
The 9th Wonder-produced song, which recently leaked, will
officially be released on Tuesday (Nov. 20) and is
described by Badu as "an old school track with some
funk on it." According to a press release, the
release of the single marks Badu's 10th year in the music
industry. And what better way to celebrate the milestone
than to release a new album? Badus forthcoming
album will arrive in stores on a special day, Feb. 26,
her birthday. In addition to 9th Wonder, the album will
include production and engineering services from Madlib,
Mike "Chav" Chavarria and R&B singer Bilal.
While everyone is wondering what shes been up to
since the release of her last full-length project, Badu
admits to playing the back this time around. "The
music is the star," she said in the release. "I
just laid down my vocals and let the music breathe while
the melodies tell the stories." Nuff said. Now that
Erykah is coming back, let the candles and incense burn. / You can read the post about the new

Erykah Badu isn't
easily forgotten. Whether it's her eclectic attire, her
philosophically empowered music or her enigmatic
personality, once you experience the phenomenon that is
Baduizm, her presence becomes tenacious; just ask her
former paramours Andre Benjamin and Common. As ambiguous
as she is grounded, Erykah Badu conveys
a truth that is definitive, yet frayed. A truth so vivid
that it has left critics and fans alike curiously
anticipating whether the mother of neo-soul would ever
birth another movement. After a four-year hiatus from the
spotlight, Ms. Badu is back. However, this time around
the Bag Lady," accompanied by some of the
cultures most organic producers, is rocking her
favorite vintage accessory - Hip-Hop. Honey,
The 9th Wonder-produced lead single off the forthcoming
album, foreshadows the musical growth and consciousness
that has become expected of the soul star. But
shell be the first to tell you, Dont
get too comfortable. Evolution is inevitable, but
Erykah just might be the last of a new breed. Always
innovative, never stagnant; no matter where she goes or
what she does, as the third syllable of her name suggests,
Ery-kah can do no wrong. /
