Blackvoices has learned that Grammy-winner American soul singer, songwriter, and actress Erykah Badu has landed a leading role opposite Mos Def in the indie film, 'Bobby Zero'. The film will be produced by Effie Brown's Los Angeles-based production company Duly Noted. Also attached to the film are Peter Dinklage and Clifton Collins. Mos Def has signed on to star in and executive produce Bobby Zero.

Written and directed by brothers Markus and Mason Canter, the film is scheduled to begin production sometime in 2009 once Badu has given birth to her third child and is ready to start work. Badu's film credits includes roles in 'Blues Brothers 2000', 'The Cider House Rules', and 'House of D'. / Thx to Jennifer for info!
Forget stealing a celeb’s style. Kim Kardashian, Erykah Badu and Eva Longoria Parker are letting you raid their closets! Each of these lovely starlets is donating one of their beloved garments or jewels exclusively to Diamonds Give 2008 bidders.
I've added scans from the Polish magazine 'Przekroj' which mentions Erykah's concert at the Heineken Opener Festival.

New York City's Lincoln Center was the location of last night's third annual 'Black Girls Rock Awards' ceremony. Among the award recipients and attendees were Erykah Badu and Keyshia Cole. The 'Rock Star' award was presented to Badu, who stepped on stage decked in a black and white top hat, stiletto heels, and a huge baby bump. She thanked her fans and Sylvia Rhone, president of her label, Universal Motown Records, but made no mention of her pregnancy. Black Girls Rock is a non-profit organization designed to mentor and empower young women of color through the arts. The organization was started by DJ Beverly Bond, a former model who has expanded her career to music and toured with Badu, Musiq and The Roots.
