Festival: Pleasing a crowd of all backgrounds, Erykah
Badu presented a soulful sweetness of
hip-hop to an overflowing crowd. With the bass
vibrating the ground and ears of the entire crowd,
Ms. Badu and her band rocked a steady dance beat.
With soulful rhthyms shaking listeners' feet, the
sultry singer nailed every high pitch. The hip-hop
singer appeared to have a cult of followers as
the crowd sang along to her chanting, "hip-hop
is bigger than the government." Pumping out
funktastic beats, Erykah sent a message to her
listeners: wake up and pay attention to what is
going on around you. Her music presents feelings
of peace and love, perfect for an Austin festival
crowd. Her fans praised her talent as she
continually let loose with her vocals, making her
